St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church Long Beach is a community of disciples striving to live and worship in a way that changes our lives and the lives of those around us. We are a warm and caring community of families and singles, young and old, committed to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ in the world. Dedicated to God’s call upon our lives, we work for justice, freedom and peace. As result, all are welcome at this altar.
As part of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles we worship in the common language of the Book of Common Prayer. Our services are both said (8 a.m.) and sung (10:15 a.m.), and celebrated throughout the week, not just on Sunday. A broad Church by liturgical and social standards and a devoted group of discerners as we continue to ask questions and seek God’s truth.
Established in 1955, as a mission congregation in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles and then later attaining parish status in 1965.
God has called us into Christian community and gifted us for ministry:
To worship and glorify God
To transform faith into action
To share the love of Jesus Christ
